Giavanna Wright

(Modern, Jazz, Poms)

Giavanna has been in love with dance ever since she can remember. She first started taking class in middle school and continued through high school. Giavanna attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she found modern dance and started choreographing. She has studied with teachers such as B.J. Sullivan, Jan Van Dyke (founder of Dance Place), Gerri Houlihan, and John Gamble. Giavanna graduated in 2004, with a BFA in dance performance and a minor in business.

She moved back to the DC area and started teaching with Motion Mania Dance Center in 2004. Giavanna has taught all over the D.C. Metro Area; D.C Dance Collective, Friends School, Act 2 Performing Arts Center, and Dance at the Mount. Giavanna is now in her fourth year performing with Motion Mania Dance Theatre and the Communications Administrator for Motion Mania Dance Center. Since the fall of 2005 she has also been performing and choreographing for the FloydProject Dance Company based out of Bethesda, Maryland and has guest performed with Full Circle Dance Company.
